Come see Leah and discover all the different animal prints throughout Rondeau! Do you have what it takes to be a nature detective?

Friday, July 11th:

9:00pm: Bats – Friend or Foe? at the Visitor’s Centre

Join Tyson as he debunks myths that surround these misunderstood nocturnal creatures. How many species will we see or hear during our small hike afterwards? Join us to find out!

Saturday, July 12th:

10:30am-12:00pm: Meet the Naturalist – Rondeau’s Time Table at the Park Store

Come reminisce about Rondeau’s unique history with characters and photos from the past!

1:30pm: Children’s Program – Lively Lepidoptera at the Bayside Parking Lot

Memberships and Board Member Opportunities

Hello Everyone,

I am pleased to report that our PayPal forms for donations and memberships are back up and running. This means that you can now pay for your yearly memberships online if you would prefer.

I would also like to take this opportunity to put a call out to all members who are interested in joining our board as a director or officer. 2024 is an election year for the FOR. If you are interested, please send a message to rondeauprovincialpark@gmail.com and state which position you would like to put your name forth for. The positions of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary are up for election. Alternatively you may choose to put your name for for a director position, of which there is no fixed number!

Festival of Flight May 6-21

Join us from May 6-21 for twice-daily guided bird hikes led by our experienced birder Kevin. He will introduce you to the wonders of Rondeau’s spring birding season.

 

Guided hikes are $15 per person with a 15 person max per hike. All hikes will meet at the Visitor Centre unless otherwise stated.

Park Closures for Deer Herd Reduction

Rondeau Provincial Park will be carrying out a Deer Herd Reduction (DHR) this year in partnership with the Delaware Nation at Moraviantown. Provisions for wildlife management activities, such as DHRs, are provided for in the park management plan that was developed through consultation with the public, stakeholders and Indigenous communities. The park will be closed for a half day on November 19, 20, 26, 27 and Dec 3, 4 from one half hour before sunrise until 12 noon. Closure signs will be posted at all park entrances and park staff will be present to advise members of the public that the park is closed during the harvest dates and that access is prohibited until the park reopens.
